At Intersections, we believe that when young people are equipped with knowledge, guided by values, and affirmed in their identity, they are empowered to live with purpose and responsibility.
Program Recognition
Intersections has been nationally recognized for empowering vulnerable communities. In 2008, we earned the U.S. Administration for Native Americans (ANA) Commissioner’s Award for best practices in youth engagement—creating original, educational plays that raised awareness of social issues across the Pacific. In 2011, the ANA honored our leadership team for an innovative social‐development response during the 2009 tsunami and our “Storytelling for Healing” recovery video. Then, in 2016, we were one of only five organizations nationwide to receive initial ANA ILEAD funding for Tupulaga TA’IALA, our peer leadership and positive youth development program.
